I am confessing! I never thought I would play a sport in my life. (seriously) I guess I was tricked! I had a pending vacation, and figured I best get moving to shed some pounds and tone up. Side note: My husband had played tennis all his life. He began to play pickleball with friends and increasingly kept on playing. I knew he had hopes to play tennis with his wifey one day, shoulder to shoulder. I had even promised 5 games of tennis but have only played 2 games to date in 9 years.  Thinking to myself, I better do something active, I bravely said I would play Pickleball. My husband just about fell over at this news! My first game I found that I was able to connect my paddle to the ball generally. I found it exciting and not to hard on my body. Yeah baby!!! My second day of play, I felt a little bit more comfortable. I WAS ON A ROLL!!!!! Until 2 days later, when running in my kitchen I slid and fell to the ground and broke a rib.  I was out of the game. BOOOO! I didn’t give up playing after the vacation though. I proudly stepped back on the court to try my skills in January. ha ha ha. In April, I twisted my ankle which took me out of the game again… I was beginning to think, there is probably a reason why I haven’t played a sport after all the struggles I have experienced In just a few months of pickleball. My ankle did heal. Thank you Lord!!! I have continued to play and truly enjoy it! So if you question whether or not you should give Pickleball a try based on lack of experience in sports, Pickleball is for YOU!!!!! Get in the game, but not in the kitchen!!!
